Magic Circle features photographs captured on two rolls of Kodak Portra 200 film, taken at sunrise within the inner circle of Stonehenge. These images were shot six days before the winter solstice in 2018, as well as on the morning of the winter solstice in 2019. Some scholars suggest that the winter solstice rituals held greater significance for the Neolithic people of Stonehenge than those of the summer solstice, symbolizing the moment when the darkest days passed and longer, brighter, and more fertile days began to return.
